HARRY’S OCEAN BAR & GRILLE

It’s no secret Cape May has its fill of haunted spots and one of its most popular “haunts” is now a pop-up Halloween bar.

HARRY’S OCEAN BAR & GRILLE

Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grille just opened Harry’s Boo Bar, giving the dining area, bar and patio a pirate-themed makeover for the season. There is an actual pirate ship outside, thanks to the Cape May Beach Patrol; plus spooky character dolls inside, including skeleton pirates, a rogue captain and ghostly portraits.

The restaurant was decorated by its in-house staff. To thank the Cape May Beach Patrol for its donation of the wooden beach boat, Harry’s will collect donations for the patrol’s Cannone Scholarship Fund, and will pull winning raffle tickets at a Halloween Party on October 26. Other events happening this month include the Cape May Jazz Festival on October 25 and 26 and a steinholding event by Dogfish Brewery on October 29.

Harry’s menu features chicken pot pie, braised short rib, a captain’s seafood stew, and butternut squash ravioli. Spooky menu items include hot dogs “mummified” with cheese in a pastry blanket; cannonball tots; bloody BBQ sliders (pulled pork) and Mad Dog nachos. The special ghoulish cocktail menu includes a smoking Davy Jones Juice, Blackbeard’s Rum served in an IV blood bag, and the Captain Jack O’Lantern with Kahlua and pumpkin cold brew.

Harry’s Ocean Bar & Grille is located at 1025 Beach Ave., Cape May. Fun fact: Its associated hotel, The Montreal Beach Resort, is part of Madison Resorts, which is also located in Wildwood Crest. And Harry’s previously introduced Harry’s Jingle Bar Christmas pop-up last holiday season, which should be back in November.
