
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is a good time to make sure you are up-to-date on screening. These events happening throughout NJ encourage mammograms, offer support, and celebrate survivors and patients going through treatment. They also honor the memory of those who lost their battle with breast cancer.
October 3
Dunk Tank Event
Boardwalk outside of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Atlantic City
As part of PINKTOBER, team members will take to the boardwalk and plunge their bosses, casino hosts, management and other personalities into dunk tank water.
Oktoberfest
Municipal Building, Spotswood
There will be food, drinks, music, games, crafts, contests and a sensory table. The event will recognize the town’s emergency service professionals. Race for the Cure will have a special table set up in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
October 10
GLOW Jump Event
Sky Zone Hamilton, Hamilton
Jump for a cause during this two-hour event at the indoor trampoline park.
October 12
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Atlantic City
Hard Rock will be the presenting sponsor of the Atlantic-Cape Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.
October 17
Pink Witches Night Out
Broadway, Denville
The evening will feature live music, shopping, specialty cocktails, raffles and a tricky tray to benefit the Kathy Olenowski Foundation for breast cancer awareness.
October 19
Diwali @ The Commons
Bridgewater Commons, Bridgewater
Part of the Diwali celebration at the mall will include a cancer awareness walk.
October 22
Paint the Bar Pink
Killarney’s Publick House, Hamilton Twp.
Support cancer patients through their journey by ordering special pink drinks from “local celebrity” bartenders, entering raffles and competing for prizes.
October 24
Pickleball Event
Pickleball Kingdom, Hamilton
While playing pickleball, you’ll be supporting a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness.
October 25
Spook and Smash Pickleball Social
Sportime Pickleball, Wayne
Pickleball players level 2.5 to 4 can bring their costume and play in games that go toward breast cancer research.
Beyond Pink Gallery
MarketFair, Princeton
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the art show pop-up will benefit the YWCA Princeton’s Breast Cancer Resource Center (BCRC). The gallery features original works inspired by survivors, including paintings, photographs, sculptures, and mixed media pieces.
October 27
Local Celebrity Softball Tournament
Mercer County Park, Softball Field 3, West Windsor
Cheer on your friends and neighbors during the softball game, whose players will be well-known residents of Mercer County. Breast cancer awareness merch will be for sale.
October 29
Ceramic Night Fundraiser
Outside the Lines Art Studio, Hamilton
Select a coffee mug, stemless wine glass, sundae dish or pub mug to paint while snacking.
