3K Walk Cancer Away Festival

Your support makes the fight against colorectal cancer possible. Assist Dr. Kemeny and her team in moving forward with her lifesaving research! The event kicks off with a 3K walk along the Newark Bay and as the walk ends, the outdoor festivities begin with live music, food trucks, family games, balloon makers, face painters, activities and much more.

Vines of Life Wine & Cheese Cancer Walk

Raise a toast while raising awareness! Along this walk, you’ll stop at stations for wine and cheese while you fundraise for women who seek respite care during breast cancer treatment. You’ll end at the winery where you can enjoy the rest of the day with more food, more wine and live music.

Paint the Bar Pink
Killarney’s Publick House, Trenton
Celebrity bartenders will serve up drinks at Killarney’s Publick House with passed appetizers, raffles, games and prizes. The RWJ Young Professional Group hosts Paint the Bar Pink, a benefit for the RWJUH Hamilton Cancer Center.

October 8

Toms River Elks Lodge, Toms River
POUND Fitness is a full-body workout that combines cardio, conditioning and strength training to energizing music and the beat of live drums. The third annual NJ POUND 4 Pink event will raise money for Mary’s Place by the Sea in Ocean Grove, which helps women with cancer. Enjoy the POUND 4 Pink Vendor Event as well.

Paint Bordentown Pink 5K
Bordentown City
To acknowledge Breast Cancer Awareness Month, join a one-mile family walk or a 5K that will course through Bordentown City and end just in time for Hope Hose Riverfest.

Guns ‘N Hoses Charity Football Game
Heavenly Farm, East Brunswick
East Brunswick police officers and supervisors will take the field against township firemen in this football game that will raise money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. At halftime, kids 12 and under can show off their throwing skills.

Local Author Day
East Brunswick Public Library, East Brunswick
During this afternoon panel discussion group, Diane Uniman – better known as Princess Diane von Brainisfried – will discuss her book “Bonjour, Breast Cancer – I’m Still Smiling … Wit, Wisdom, and Optimism for Beating the Breast Cancer Blues.” Uniman is a lawyer-turned-Certified Positive Psychology Life Coach, Certified Laughter Yoga Leader, author and blogger. She gives corporate wellness seminars on happiness, optimism, positivity and productivity.
