At Behaved Brain Wellness Center, Katie Gately and her team provide individual, couples and family therapy with a focus on brain health. They utilize a combination of cognitivebehavioral (CBT) play therapy and strategies, mindfulness tools and psycho-education to treat everything from ADHD and anxiety to OCD and parental stress.
“My background in neuroscience taught me how critical it is to address the foundations of sleep, exercise, nutrition, supplements and screen time—and also ensure that parents are taking care of themselves,” says Gately, a board-certified behavior analyst and licensed professional counselor.
The therapists take a structured, holistic approach to therapy, and partner with families to determine the best treatment plans. They often use hands-on art projects and journaling to help kids better understand their brain and control positive thinking.
“We want kids to know how to be resilient and manage stress, from today’s struggles on the playground to tomorrow’s high school drama,” says the mom of two.
