At Behaved Brain Wellness Center, Katie Gately and her team specialize in individual, couples and family therapy, with a focus on brain health for children and teens. Their approach combines evidence-based therapies like cognitive-behavioral (CBT) and play therapy with mindfulness practices, psycho-education, and practical life strategies to help kids and families manage ADHD, anxiety, OCD, depression and more.
“My background in neuroscience taught me how critical it is to address the foundations of sleep, exercise, nutrition, supplements and screen time, and also ensure that parents are taking care of themselves,” says Katie Gately, a board-certified behavior analyst and licensed professional counselor.
The therapists take a structured, holistic approach, partnering with families to design personalized treatment plans. Children benefit from hands-on methods such as art projects, journaling, role-playing, mindfulness exercises, social skills training and cognitive strategies.
“We want kids to develop resilience and stress management skills, from playground challenges to high school pressures,” says the mom of two.
