The Office Tavern Grill has long been one of our go-to spots for reliably great food, an impressive beer selection, and a fun atmosphere. From burgers, salads (The Cobb is always a fave) and wings to sweet potato nachos and next-level fresh flatbreads, the menu is packed with classic fare with a sometimes modern twist. On a recent visit to the Ridgewood location, we discovered something totally new to us: the Road Trip Menu.
The limited-time Road Trip Menu, created by Executive Chef Sean Carner, is kind of like a foodie postcard from a different part of the country. The latest road trip menu is inspired by the Lone Star State and is all about smoked meats, BBQ flavors, and comfort foods.

The Texas Road Trip Menu
We had a chance to try the Texas Road Trip Menu and asked Chef Carner what inspired it and others before it. “We look at what’s in season, what’s authentic to the region, and what unexpected flavors we can introduce to our guests,” he told New Jersey Family. “It’s about the classics—but with a twist—and honoring what a place really tastes like.”
The Texas Road Trip menu launched in early spring—adding smoky brisket and dry rubs to an already diverse menu of dishes. “Texas cuisine is big—big flavors, big portions, big heart,” says Carner. “But it’s also diverse. There’s Tex-Mex influence, there’s deep southern traditions, and there’s creativity in how ingredients are used.”
We got to try everything on the Texas Road Trip Menu and one of our favorites is the Texas Flatbread, made with chopped brisket, mozzarella, red onion, jalapeno and sweet BBQ sauce, all layered on a crisp crust that’s cooked in a special stone-based rotating oven imported from Italy. The dough itself is made from slow-fermented, double-zero flour. “It’s all about texture and balance,” Carner says. “You want acid, fat, crunch, softness—so no two bites are the same.”
The Texas Road Trip Menu also includes:
-Texas Queso served with warm, house-fried tortilla chips
-Tex-Mex Salad topped with crispy tortilla strips
-Sliced Brisket Sandwich (the brisket is slow-cooked and delicious)
-Chicken Enchiladas (the chicken is slow-cooked with a tasty red chili enchilada sauce)
-Chicken Fried Steak (classic comfort food served with creamy gravy and mashed potatoes)
Each Road Trip Menu features a regional beer pairing, and for the Texas edition, The Office is featuring Shiner Bock from Shiner, TX—a lager that goes well with the Lone Star State’s bold flavors.
The Texas Road Trip menu will be available for about 10 weeks, and Carner is already working on figuring out his next destination. We asked him if a New Jersey-themed menu showcasing the state’s tomatoes could be next. “Jersey tomatoes and peaches are some of the best you’ll find anywhere,” Carner adds. “We definitely want to show off what this state can do.”
The Office Tavern Grill has locations in Ridgewood, Morristown, Summit, and its newest in East Hanover. Each restaurant has a bar with classic and signature cocktails, wine and an impressive list of craft beers, including a bunch of local NJ brews from Five Dimes Brewery in Westwood, Hackensack Brewing and Ship Bottom Brewery.
Carner says all 4 locations aim to be a place where family and friends can disconnect from their devices and bond over a great meal. “At the end of the day, we’re chasing nostalgia,” Carner says. “We want people to feel like they’re at a big family dinner where everyone’s talking, laughing, reaching across the table for a bite. That’s the kind of place we try to be.”
