The highly-anticipated Adventure Crossing USA mega dome in Jackson officially opened and we got an early look at the indoor driving range, VR experiences and more.
The biggest draw at Adventure Golf & Entertainment is Toptracer Range, a driving range for kids and adults old enough to swing a golf club; anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. There are two levels, so make sure to check out the view from the top tier. There are 42 bays so there’s lots of room for groups, parties or even a date night. Grab your club (borrow one or bring your own) and swing toward the giant outfield targets; the tech system will score the depth of your swing. You can choose different games from the computer on how to score your points. You can order food and drinks in the bays, too.
Take a ride in the MaxFlight simulator. If you don’t have the stomach for it, or if you are claustrophobic, you can watch the brave test their bravado since there are two giant screens on the wall showing the people’s reactions during the ride, plus the simulation course they chose. It’s just as fun to stand there and watch their expressions as they flip and flop inside the chamber.
There’s lots of technology in the XR Arcade: Extended Reality (XR) includes virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality, so the different areas have flight simulators, racecar tracks and four TopGolf Swing Suites where you can play sports like football, soccer, Zombie Dodgeball and golf through the use of props and a screen. There are comfy couches in these areas, plus high-top tables, too.
There are also eight bays for axe throwing. If you’re 10 or older, try your hand at hitting the bullseye. There are lots of games, like tic-tac-toe, Race to 300 or striking out a Viking warlord.
If you prefer more of a sit-down experience, there’s a small bar area with restaurant seating. Menu items include salads, flatbread pizzas, burgers, sandwiches and desserts. The Kids Menu includes chicken bites, grilled cheese or a junior cheeseburger. You can even order breakfast until 2 pm each day, either a breakfast burrito or chicken & biscuit sandwich. There’s a full drink menu of beer, wine and mixed drinks.
TopTracer Range and TopGolf Suites are part of the Golf & Entertainment center, which will also include a bowling alley, laser tag, arcade and climb wall. This area is just one part of the 300-acre complex being designed by Vito Cardinale of Cardinale Enterprises. Once the four-phase project is done, Adventure Crossing USA will include several fast food joints, an outdoor retail store, Hilton and Marriott hotels, indoor and outdoor sports fields, convention center, medical and research education campus (Cardinale is known for making a big push toward fighting multiple sclerosis), an indoor water park with surfing wave, Adventure Village and an apartment complex.
Adventure Crossing is located at 515 Monmouth Rd. (Route 537 East) in Jackson, less than 2 miles from Six Flags Great Adventure. The Toptracer Range and TopGolf Swing Suite building is open from 10 am – 10 pm Sunday – Thursday; and 10 am to midnight Friday and Saturday.
