A pop-up summertime exhibit in New York City will blow you away with more than 600,000 balloons designed into intricate and gigantic structures, from replicas of marine life to iconic monuments.
Balloon Story features designs made by 200 artists, and include replicas of zoo animals, outer space, Antarctica and more.
The Park Avenue Armory was once used by the Seventh Regiment of the National Guard in the days of President Abraham Lincoln; these days, you can see a gigantic Bald Eagle symbolize America in colorful red, white and blue balloons.
No one can resist hitting a balloon, but instead of touching the carefully constructed structures, head to the balloon maze and the hands-on ball pit inside the jungle area. There’s also a selfie area with 12 installations so you can snap pics up close to the designs.
The balloons are made with environmentally friendly latex (natural rubber).
It’ll take about 70 minutes to walk through and see all the 3D artwork.
The Balloon Story exhibit is open daily from 10 am to 6:30 pm through August 24. The Park Avenue Armory is located at 643 Park Ave., New York, NY. Kids’ tickets start at $26, and adult tickets start at $31.90 via Fever.
