If your family spends a week down the Shore every summer, there’s a new option in Ocean City that combines the space and privacy of a renting a beach house with the perks of staying in an upscale hotel.

Last month, Coastal Chateau, a boutique hotel that opened in 2024, announced the launch of two standalone Coastal Cottages. The homes are located one block from the beach and boardwalk, making it easy to head out for meals and activities without getting in the car.

Each two-story cottage sleeps up to 10 guests and is designed for larger family vacations, group trips, wedding weekends and longer stays. The homes include full kitchens, multiple bedrooms, private outdoor spaces, outdoor showers and reserved parking, and they are pet-friendly.

What Comes With Each Stay
One of the biggest differences between the cottages and a traditional Shore house rental is that guests do not have to bring their own linens, among other things. Beds are made before arrival, and towels are provided. Guests also receive beach chairs, beach tags, beach carts and kitchen essentials.

“From the beginning, our goal with Coastal Chateau was to elevate the hospitality experience in Ocean City while preserving the magic of summers down the Shore,” said Lexi Scaffidi, co-founder of Coastal Chateau. “As we continued to grow, we saw an opportunity to create something for larger families, groups and guests looking to spend more time together.”

Coastal Chateau and the new cottages were founded by sisters Alexis and Alyse Scaffidi, who purchased and restored the historic Ocean City property together. Rates and minimum stay requirements vary depending on time of year.
Ocean City is a favorite Shore destination thanks to its eight miles of beaches, its family-friendly boardwalk and great eats. There’s plenty to do beyond the beach, with attractions like Playland’s Castaway Cove, mini golf, concerts and year-round festivals.
