Mega Bite Events, known for holding food and food truck festivals all across New Jersey, is holding Pickle Palooza: New Jersey’s Pickle Festival on the grounds of the Teaneck Armory on Saturday and we’re giving away two sets of family 4-packs on our Instagram feed!
Pickle purveyors will be selling traditional, gourmet, spicy and specialty varieties of pickles along with pickle-themed foods, desserts and creative snack mashups. Fried pickles are a given but you can also expect pickle tacos, pickle wings and pickle pizza!
BRYAN ROSARIO FOR MEGA BITE EVENTS / Pickle PaloozaThere will be a Pickle Brine Drinking Contest (sponsored by JerZey Girl Pickles) and a beer garden for pickle beer, pickle cocktails and pickle vodka.
There will be a pickle toss contest (sponsored by What’s the Dill), live music, a Family Fun Zone with kid-friendly activities and more.
Come in costume and enter to win King & Queen Pickle (sponsored by Black Forest Food Truck) following the Pickle Parade.
The festival comes during Pickle Time Week, which started in 1949 by the Pickle Packers Association. New Jersey residents eat some of the most pickles in the country, with NJ contributing thousands of tons of cucumbers for pickle production. Americans eat more than 5.2 million pounds a year.
Pickle Palooza is happening from 12 to 7 pm on Saturday, April 25, at the Teaneck Armory, 1799 Teaneck Rd., Teaneck. Tickets are $8 if you buy in advance online. At the gate, tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and veterans, and free for kids under 5.
The VIP Package is $40, and includes early entry at 11 am, $15 in Pickle Bucks to spend on pickles or food, and swag including a T-shirt and tote bag.
