With more than 20 years of summer camp experience, HealthBarn USA offers a hands-on, fun and educational garden-totable summer camp that helps set children up for a healthy future. Designed to build strong bodies and healthy minds, the program blends outdoor adventure, cooking from scratch, and meaningful connections with nature—all in a joyful, supportive environment.
Located in Ridgewood, HealthBarn’s organic teaching garden features more than 50 varieties of fruits, vegetables, herbs and edible plants. Campers plant, harvest and carry fresh produce straight into the kitchen, making the connection between food, health and the environment tangible and exciting.
HealthBarn’s camp encourages curiosity, teamwork and confidence. “The kids quickly become open to trying new foods—they feel incredibly proud after harvesting their own fruits and vegetables and cooking a delicious lunch to enjoy with friends,” says Stacey Antine, MS, RDN, founder and director of HealthBarn USA. “Our camp is 100 percent unplugged, and the children are genuinely happy, engaged and excited to bring home new pasta, cake pop and granola recipes to share with their families.”
Lunchtime is a daily highlight, thanks to HealthBarn’s kitchen team led by professional French Chef Pascal, who makes wholesome, farm-fresh meals irresistible— even for picky eaters. Campers prepare food each day, learning essential culinary and life skills.
Summer camp is offered for ages 4–5, 6–8, and 9–12, with a Summer Seedlings program for ages 3–5. Dietary allergies can be accommodated.
“We teach children to respect nature and one another,” Antine adds. “The HealthBarn experience is truly beneficial for the whole family.”
