Fall foliage in the mountains is spectacular, and Camelback Resort in the Poconos has planned some fun seasonal events.

Family Fall Fest activities are new to the resort and include mini golf among other mountain adventures. On weekends in October, there will be live music, pumpkin carving, local vendors, crafts and fall-themed food and drinks.

The Spooktacular Halloween Movie on the Mountain will be “Monsters, Inc.” at dusk on Saturday, October 12, so pack blankets. The movie is free for resort guests, but you can buy snacks.

The 4th Annual Howl O’Ween Doggie Parade will be from 12-3 pm on Saturday, October 19. Pups will parade down from Camelback Mountain Adventures to Trails End eatery, where they will compete in an awards ceremony on the Mountain Coaster lawn. Categories include Best in Show, Owner/Pet Look-a-Like and more. Local partner Sit, Stay, N Play will host an agility course and rodeo dog area for more friendly, furry competition. Registration is free.

Another time-honored tradition at Camelback is the 10th annual Ullr Fest, which helps summon Ullr, the Norse God of skiing and snow. On November 9, your family can come to the slopes after 4 pm to ask for a snow-filled season. This event features food and drinks, ski decorating, live music from Leighann & Company, a drone or fireworks show, and a bonfire to cap off the night. This fest is open to the public and is free to attend.

Don’t forget about the biggest reason you came: the rides! Camelback Mountain Adventures includes the 1,000-foot Double Barrel Ziplines, the 4,000-foot Zip Rider (the longest in Pennsylvania), UTV tours, sunbowl tubing, the three-hour/three-level TreeTops Adventure Course, the Mountain Coaster, and a new mini golf course. This area of the resort is open on weekdays from 11 am to 4 pm; and until 6 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

There are also s’mores kits available nightly at the campfires at Trails End. You can rent a fire pit or sit in the Adirondack chairs.

Camelback Resort is located at 193 Resort Dr., Tannersville, PA. For more information, call 570-629-1665 or visit www.camelbackresort.com. Resort hotel packages are available.
