Trenton Thunder Baseball Team ‘Unleashes’ New Identity For 2024 Season

Check the schedule for nights when your dog can come to the stadium with you!

TRENTON THUNDER

Minor League Baseball games are a fun way for kids to learn about America’s favorite past time while seeing the athletes up close, getting to play games and eating lots of fun stadium foods. The Trenton Thunder are adding another bonus to the 2024 season: puppies!

The Thunder will become the Trenton Goldens to celebrate the golden retrievers who have served as full-time bat dogs since 2002. This was a first in baseball and started with Chase, then his son Derby, and now the legacy continues with Derby’s son Rookie and Rookie’s cousin Dash.

The Trenton Goldens will take the field, wearing specially made jerseys for the events, during a Batdog Celebration on Wednesday, June 26, at 7 pm; and during Bark at the Park on Sunday, August 18, at 5 pm.

The surprises don’t end there! On those nights, you can bring your own (well-behaved) pet dog to the stadium. You can get Trenton Goldens merch for yourself and your pets online before the game.

The last time the teammates had an alternate identity was in 2018 when they wore Thunder Pork Roll jerseys.

The Trenton Thunder play at Trenton Thunder Ballpark, 1 Thunder Rd., Trenton. The season opens June 4 against the State College Spikes of PA. Check the schedule for special themed nights like Pork Roll Fridays, post-game fireworks and other nights you can bring your dog.
