Go Pixel Yourself is an Instagram lover’s holiday dream.
This pop-up at the Mills at Jersey Gardens has one-of-a-kind interactive SM-focused exhibits, so you can capture yourself walking the red carpet, creating a music video and flying in a first-class lounge of a reconstructed 747 airplane, all to help you share your perfect snap on social media.
You can dance with a polar bear or deliver the nightly news, and since there are dozens of cameras with motion-activated technology, you’ll get the pictures and videos sent straight to your phone.
Some of the sets include a $120,000 Johnny Swing-designed couch made entirely of quarters and legendary NFT artist Beeple’s video art that was used on-screen by Lady Gaga and Katy Perry.
Go Pixel Yourself was created by South Orange resident John Carter, who has designed virtually every major iconic New York City Christmas window over the years, including Lord & Taylor, Saks Fifth Avenue, Macy’s, and Bloomingdales, which he still collaborates on.
Go Pixel Yourself currently has a Christmas theme, but will change on December 26 to focus on New Year’s, and then regularly adopt new themes throughout the year in 2024 to make it a permanent destination.
Go Pixel Yourself is located at The Mills at Jersey Gardens Mall, 651 Kapkowski Rd., Elizabeth; enter through Saks Off 5th. Hours are 10 am to 9 pm Monday to Saturday, and 11 am to 7 pm Sunday.
