The Garden State is flush with reds, oranges and yellows this time of year, and it’s the perfect time to plan a day to get out on the road to see the trees in all their fall glory.

Gunther VW Coconut Creek surveyed 3,000 people, asking them to rate their favorite routes to see fall foliage. Three spots in New Jersey made the list, and it’s clear why.

Of the 140 drives on the list, New Jersey’s top pick for fall foliage drives is the Delaware River Scenic Byway, voted 58th nationally. The road follows the river, so you not only see the gorgeous trees but also rolling hills along the water.

Third place in NJ is The Pine Barrens Scenic Byway, voted No. 111 in the country. Stretching across 130 miles of untouched nature, you’ll see dense forests of pitch pine and scrub oak, plus smaller deciduous trees and shrubs.
