Sleepy Hollow is one of the Halloween hotspots of the US, thanks to Washington Irving’s Legend of Sleepy Hollow. If you haven’t taken the kids there before, the new Sleepy Hollow Experience is a great reason to make the trip this fall.
Starting October 4, this nationally-renowned immersive outdoor theater event will be staged for the first time in the NJ area. The show boasts live musicians and singers who’ll guide guests from scene to scene around Sunnyside. Before you know it, you’re part of the show itself: Guests will meet Ichabod and Katrina, get in on bites and bevs at the Van Tassel’s party and even (gulp!) come face to face with the Headless Horseman.
Best part? It all goes down at Washington Irving’s Sunnyside estate in Tarrytown, NY. Shows start October 4 and run on weekends through November 3 (plus on Halloween, of course!). Performances start at 6:30 and 8:30 pm (except on Nov. 3, when shows start one hour earlier).
It’s family-friendly, but beware of taking your tiny—or grown-up—scaredy cats if they’re spooked easier than most. Get tickets for your whole crew now on hudsonvalley.org. Adult tix are $45 while kids get in for $25. Drinks and snacks are available for purchase, plus tons of other spooky goodies in the gift shop. It’s all happening at Irving’s Sunnyside, located at 3 W. Sunnyside Lane in Tarrytown, NY.
