October’s been a big month for slime, thanks to The Sloomoo Institute‘s impending NYC opening. If homemade slime has taken over your house more times that you can remember, you’ll want to be in the know about Slime Bash 5, the largest slime convention on the planet.
About the Slime Convention
Madison Rae, a 14-year-old from Fairfield, CT, started making her own slime recipes at home and sharing them on Instagram. Just last year, she launched Maddie Rae’s Slime Glue, and then came out with custom slime jars. After her business took off, she made history: Maddie broke the Guinness World Record for Largest Slime after a team of 100+ people helped her make 13,820 pounds of the stuff at Play Fair New York at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. Her first slime convention at Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa sold out in just 36 hours.
What to Do
The convention will be held at the Mohegan Sun Expo Center in Uncasville, CT. If you’re lucky enough to get a ticket for your little slimer, he’ll be able to meet other DIYers in Slimer Alley, sit in on demos, swap goods in the trading arena, listen to Q&As featuring industry insiders and shop Maddie Rae’s Slime Bash 5 Pop Up Shop. Bonus? This convention boasts make your own slime pits.
New this year are the Maddie Rae Fun Zone, full of crafts, video games, an escape room and a bounce house; a Squishy Station, where the kids can make their own squishy; The Sumo Pit, where kids battle their friends to be the last one standing, and the Slime Mix-In Bar, where the kids can score the greatest accessories for their oozy creations. There’ll also be tattoo and selfie stations, a Great Wall of Slime, a pop-up show and contests.

Tickets will be available through October 13. Single-day tix are going for $20-25 a pop and two-day passes for $35. But if your kid is a diehard slimer, you’ll want to splurge on the Mega Bash Pass for $95. It includes two-day entry, early access on Saturday, an invite to a private VIP slimer party, a Maddie Rae swag bag with tons of goodies and an autograph poster.
