One of my favorite Halloween traditions is “boo-ing” friends and neighbors. “Boo-ing” is when you secretly leave a small gift or treat on someone’s doorstep along with a note that says, “You’ve been boo’d!” The best part? The recipient is encouraged to “boo” someone else, spreading the spooky cheer.
Whether you’re new to this fun tradition or a seasoned boo-er, coming up with creative, family-friendly treat ideas is half the fun. I’ve got some spooky and sweet ideas that are sure to delight anyone lucky enough to find a “boo” surprise at their door.
Creative Treat Ideas for Boo-ing
1. Spooky Snack Mixes
A mix of snack favorites like popcorn, pretzels, candy corn, and chocolate-covered pretzels in a Halloween-themed bag or jar is sure to be a hit. Add a few gummy worms or spooky-shaped candies for that extra creepy touch. You can even add a layer of melted chocolate for a sweet-and-salty combo everyone will love.
2. Candy-Dipped Pretzel Wands
Chocolate-covered pretzels are always a fan-favorite – using pretzel rods will create delicious “witch wands” perfect for sharing. Wrap them in clear bags tied with orange and black ribbons, and they’re ready to deliver!
