Some like it hot, and some like it Frrrozen!
NYC’s famed Serendipity3 restaurant has partnered with Broadway’s “Some Like It Hot” on a limited-time version of its classic Frrrozen Hot Chocolate.
The original creation is incredible, but this new spicy version features a frosting and Red Hot candy rimmed goblet filled with Serendipity3’s blend of cocoas infused with ancho chili, sriracha sauce, cinnamon and allspice. The dessert (it’s way too rich to call it a drink) is topped with whipped cream, hot salted sriracha milk chocolate shavings, sriracha sauce, spicy gummy pepper candy and a “Some Like It Hot” stirrer that changes colors based on temperature.
“Some Like It Hot” opened at the Shubert Theatre, 225 W. 44th St., on Dec. 11. Set in Chicago during Prohibition, the musical comedy is the story of two musicians forced to flee the Windy City after witnessing a mob hit. With gangsters on their heels, they’re on the run as the newest members of the biggest swing band ever to cross the country.
This is not the first collaboration between Serendipity3 and a popular NY institution. In December, the Gingerbread Frrrozen Hot Chocolate was a nod to the Rockettes, and featured candy canes, a gingerbread man and sugar snow.
The “Some Like It Hot” Frrrozen Hot Chocolate costs $27.95 and is available through end of January at Serendipity3, 225 E. 60th St., New York. The restaurant is open every day from 11 am – 11 pm. Walk in seating is available but reservations are recommended.
Afterward, head downtown to Bryant Park to try out the bumper cars on ice.
