Valentine’s Day is right around the corner (so yeah, you should probably buy a card soon), which means everyone’s on the hunt for chocolate, roses, vino and the like.
Instacart, an on-demand grocery delivery service, just released the results of its 2nd Annual Romance Index, which uses customer search terms to determine the most (and least) romantic cities in the country. The search terms they monitored from city to city were chocolate, flowers, strawberries, champagne, truffle, cookies, dessert, hearts, roses, wine, Valentine and candy. The more people in a given city searched the term, the higher the ranking.

While Boston took the crown for the second year in a row, NJ’s nearby neighbor, the City of Brotherly Love, came in at number 4. Philly, while largely famous for its, ahem, super enthusiastic sports fans, also has a lot to offer in the romance department (even if the LOVE sculpture in John F. Kennedy Plaza is gone for renovations through early 2018).
In the winter, the Blue Cross RiverRInk Winterfest is a can’t-miss. Go ice skating with a view of Delaware River, play arcade games and take in a cocktail at the warm, toasty Lodge. If you and your boo are the artsy type, the Love Letter murals around the city, part of Steve Powers’ project A Love Letter for You, are sure to give you all the feels (they even do train tours so you don’t miss a single mural!). Into something more unconventional? Check out the Magic Gardens, a nonprofit gallery space that uses materials like bike wheels, tiles, glass bottles and more to make masterpieces.
Oh yeah, there’s also a bustling restaurant scene, vineyard trails and famous breweries. Consider a weekend getaway (or day trip if you’re close enough) for some A1 romance with your honey.
