NJ Is Home to One of the Best Pizzerias In The World, According to Italian Website

Have you been to the north Jersey spot that made the list?

RAZZA PIZZA ARTIGIANALE

We already know New Jersey pizza is the best but now a website based in the birthplace of the delicious dough topped with mozzarella and tomato sauce agrees. The website, 50toppizza.it, says there’s a spot in New Jersey that makes one of the best pizzas in the world. You read that right: We are home to one of the best pizzerias on the planet.

Razza Pizza Artigianale in Jersey City is No. 11 on the list of the top pizza places in the world, according to 5o Top Pizza. If you live in Hudson County, or have visited, chances are you’ve waited in the long lines outside of Razza for the traditional tomato pie with yellow and red tomato sauce with 36-month Parmigiano-Reggiano;  the Jersey Margeherita with crushed tomatoes, Jersey Girl fresh mozzarella and basil; or even the corn pie with New Jersey corn, fresh mozzarella, scamorza, shaved onions and fermented chili paste.

Razza’s owner and head chef is Dan Richer, a Matawan native. Richer attended Rutgers University for his bachelor’s, then skipped his graduation ceremony to fly to Italy. That’s where he found his pizza-making inspo and passion, which led him to open his restaurant in 2007. He prides himself on using fresh ingredients and a wood-burning stove.
