Aside from the high taxes, we love New Jersey for the Shore, green spaces, mountains, great schools, proximity to New York City and Philly and so much more. The editors at CNBC agree that the Garden State is a great place to live and work.
New Jersey came in at #3 on a recently-released list of America’s Top States for Business. The annual study looks at where people want to live, the state’s workforce, infrastructure and economy, per capita crime rates, environmental quality, health care and childcare. The study also considered anti-discrimination laws, worker protections and state abortion laws.
“The Garden State is one of America’s most inclusive, with broad protections against discrimination, and among the nation’s strongest guarantees of reproductive freedom,” the CNBC website says. “New Jersey is one of America’s safest states, according to FBI crime data. Its violent crime rate is among the lowest in the nation.”
CNBC cited New Jersey’s reproductive rights, inclusiveness and low crime rate as strengths and said air quality is an area of weakness.
