A new study has revealed the best school districts in America and the best schools in the Garden State for 2022. Niche, which complies in-depth profiles on every school and college in America, took a look at key statistics, millions of reviews from students and parents and data from the U.S. Department of Education to determine the rankings. Some factors they considered included test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality and more.
The 2022 Best School Districts in New Jersey showed some familiar names. Let’s take a look at the top 20:

- Northern Valley Regional High School District
- Princeton Public Schools
- West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District
- Livingston Board of Education School District
- Tenafly Public School District
- Ridgewood Public School District
- Pascack Valley Regional High School District
- Summit Public School District
- Moorestown Public School District
- Bernards Township School District
- Westfield Public School District
- Mountain Lakes School District
- West Essex Regional School District
- South Brunswick School District

One student reviewed Millburn, the number one school district in the rankings, singing its praises when it comes to both the social and academic atmosphere.
“Excellent people, good education, met a ton of friends and bonded over extracurriculars!” wrote a freshman in April 2020. “It was a great experience and I learned a ton at my school. The school encourages excellence academically and extracurricularly.”
