New Study Reveals the Best Schools and Districts in NJ

A new study has revealed the best school districts in America and the best schools in the Garden State for 2022. Niche, which complies in-depth profiles on every school and college in America, took a look at key statistics, millions of reviews from students and parents and data from the U.S. Department of Education to determine the rankings. Some factors they considered included test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality and more.

The 2022 Best School Districts in New Jersey showed some familiar names. Let’s take a look at the top 20:

  1. Millburn Township School District
  2. Northern Valley Regional High School District
  3. Princeton Public Schools
  4. West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District
  5. Livingston Board of Education School District
  6. Tenafly Public School District
  7. Ridgewood Public School District
  8. Pascack Valley Regional High School District
  9. Summit Public School District
  10. Moorestown Public School District
  11. Bernards Township School District
  12. Westfield Public School District
  13. Mountain Lakes School District
  14. West Essex Regional School District
  15. South Brunswick School District
  16. Haddonfield Public Schools
  17. West Morris Regional High School District
  18. Holmdel Township School District
  19. Hopewell Valley Regional School District
  20. New Providence School District

One student reviewed Millburn, the number one school district in the rankings, singing its praises when it comes to both the social and academic atmosphere.

“Excellent people, good education, met a ton of friends and bonded over extracurriculars!” wrote a freshman in April 2020. “It was a great experience and I learned a ton at my school. The school encourages excellence academically and extracurricularly.”

  8. Kent Place School, Summit
  9. Rutgers Preparatory School, Somerset
  10. Princeton Day School, Princeton
  11. The Wardlaw + Hartridge School, Edison
  12. Blair Academy, Blairstown
  13. Montclair Kimberley Academy, Montclair
  14. Ranney School, Tinton Falls
  15. The Wilberforce School, Princeton
  16. Stuart Country Day School, Princeton
  17. Morristown-Beard School, Morristown
  18. The Pennington School, Pennington
  19. Gill St. Bernard School, Gladstone
  20. Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child — Upper School, Summit
