Located just 25 minutes outside of Philadelphia, Moorestown is a bucolic town with tons of open space, stately homes and top-notch schools to boot.
And with more than 19,000 residents, it’s no secret Moorestown is a hot spot for people with kids in the Garden State. Working parents benefit from an easy commute (just hop on the 317 or 414 bus lines to get to Philadelphia in no time), and a safe community to raise their kids.
Appropriately home to the Moorestown Quakers, kiddos get to run around in gorgeous outside spaces, like Strawbridge Lake Park, flecked with flora and fauna with wildflowers blooming at the lake’s edge, and the Boundary Creek Natural Resource Area that’s chalk-full of breathtaking walking and hiking trails. If the little ones need to burn off some energy, head over to the popular Frank Fullerton Memorial Park for a few hours on the playground.
If you’re looking for a little more action, take a stroll down Main Street, part of Moorestown’s downtown, where a canopy of trees romantically shades mom and pop shops and gorgeous historic homes that date back to the 18th century.
There are also tons of community events, especially during warmer months. Residents enjoy a kid-friendly summer concert series at the park, craft festivals and cooking and dance classes headed up by the recreation department. Don’t forget about the Moorestown Library on rainy days. Thanks to a robust schedule of programs, kids will never get bored. —Murphy Moroney
