Mountain Creek Resort has a unique way to celebrate Abraham Lincoln’s 216th birthday this Wednesday, February 12. If you (or someone in your family) knows the Gettysburg Address by heart, and you can recite the famous speech correctly and in its entirety to a staffer at Mountain Creek, you can earn a free lift ticket for the day.
The inspirational famed 272-word speech (the one that starts “Four score and seven years ago…”) is a major part of Lincoln’s legacy. And Mountain Creek will reward the history buffs who show up on Wednesday and can recite the speech without making mistakes.
Redeemable at South and Vernon Base Guest Experience Counters, the free lift ticket is valid for one day only, on Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
So if you love skiing and snowboarding and have the speech memorized and have off on Friday, its the perfect time to hit the slopes in Vernon. With all the winter storms recently, it is prime skiing this year. There are 167 acres of winter trails over the four connected mountain peaks. There are trails for skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing, and plenty of beginner-friendly options.
Mountain Creek Resort is located at 200 Rte. 94 in Vernon Twp.
