New Jersey Family: Tell us about your business and what makes it unique?
Giselle M. Tadros: My business is a concierge physical therapy service that treats babies in the comfort of their own home. I started this business because I recognized the need for more convenience for parents working long hours, with children at home that don’t want to be bringing them to germy hospitals and public waiting rooms. We are unique because we try to make life easy for the modern busy parent by providing parents with tools to boost your child’s development. Our unique service is that we come to YOU, when you want, at a convenient time for your family. I also offer sessions in my office.

NJF: When did you launch the business, and what was your biggest inspiration to launch it?
GT: I worked in various settings for almost 15 years, in the schools, hospitals, private clinics and early intervention. After the birth of my third son, I started to really appreciate the need for more convenience for parents who work long hours, and have itty bitty newborns and/or toddlers at home that don’t want to be bringing them out.

NJF: In this unprecedented time of COVID-19, small businesses are being hit really hard. How has this affected your business?
GT: Although as healthcare providers, we are considered essential, our company made the decision to cancel all in-home visits until further notice. Although our 1:1 patient care model is optimally suited the utmost safety and best possible care, we have decided that no risk is worth taking. We are providing telehealth services and frankly are quite surprised at how well they are going!

NJF: How have you pivoted your business to adapt to this stressful and uncertain time?
GT: At In-Home Pediatric we have begun doing telehealth services with patients and doing a lot more education online on platforms like Instagram and Facebook on what parents can do to keep their children active while at home.

NJF: What can others do to support you?
GT: We love when parents take videos and post them and tag us so we can provide tools to more and more families. Of course, leaving a positive review, scheduling a telehealth visit or voting us as your favorite NJ Kids Doc is a great way to show support!

NJF: How are you and your business giving back through this period?
GT:
We are putting a lot of content online to help parents try some activities at home. We have also significantly decreased our rates to allow any parent interested in help to access our care.

NJF: What will be the first thing you do as a business when this is behind us?
GT:
I can’t wait to see all the little babies and parents and give them big hugs!

NJF: What’s the best piece of business advice you’ve ever gotten that you want to share with others?
GT:
What a beautiful question! The best advice I’ve ever gotten was to teach your customers (or parents) something that money can’t buy! When you give them that treasure, not only do they trust you implicitly, they become lifelong believers in anything you offer them.
