As part of the LSC in the House venture to keep kids and families engaged in fun science education during the COVID-19 quarantine, Liberty Science Center is virtually hosting weekly trivia nights.Â
On Thursday nights at 6 pm, gather your gang and head to the Liberty Science Center’s Facebook page. Compete live against other science lovers on topics like space, animals, health, tech and pop culture. This week’s theme is the real science in Disney movies, so if you’ve spent a lot of time thinking about how Alice’s potion made her big and then small, you’re gonna love this.Â
Younger kids can try their hand at their own science games on the Facebook page on Friday mornings at 11:30 am.Â
LSC is also using its Facebook page for other non-trivia live streams. Mondays there are science lessons for the kids at 11:30 am. Tuesdays feature medical presentations at 1 pm (surgery videos and such, which are not for the squeamish). Watch planetarium presentations on Thursday afternoons at 1 pm. Our favorite is on Wednesday mornings at 11 am, when you can get animal updates on the critters at the museum. You’ll see everything from naked mole rats to frilled lizards to piranhas.Â
If you miss any of the live streams, you can always catch them later on the LSC in the House website. You’ll also find science experiments to try at home. Most are done with items you likely already have at home. If you want to study up for future trivia nights, check out LSC’s educational films help you get ready.
