After news that American Dream, the mega attraction-to-be in East Rutherford, pushed back its open date to late summer, we’ve been antsy for another update. It turns out American Dream’s rides are being tested already.
On Wednesday, Governor Phil Murphy gave some insight into the project’s progress in a Facebook Live interview with 1010 Wins. Despite nearly two decades of halts and changes, Murphy revealed the rides at Nickelodeon Universe are being tested. He also spoke about the DreamWorks Waterpark, saying he estimates about 2,000 workers are making progress at the site every day.
American Dream’s rides will be at attractions like Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park, SEALIFE Aquarium, LEGOLAND Discovery Center and Big Snow America, the first indoor ski and snowboard park in the Western Hemisphere. The complex also boasts luxury shopping, an ice rink, a massive observation wheel, a luxury 4-D theater and the first-ever VICE MUNCHIES food hall.

American Dream is officially opening on October 25 (yes, really!) and we couldn’t be more psyched! The East Rutherford behemoth will be rolling out the launches of various attractions, but will eventually be home to the continent’s first indoor snow park, the world’s first candy department store, next-level shopping and tons of attractions.
