Raritan Family Health Care is a patient centered medical practice where board-certified physicians and husband-and-wife team Dr. Joseph Scalia and Dr. Lisa Jordan-Scalia treat each patient as an individual. “At Raritan Family Health Care, our family is caring for your family,” says Dr. Joseph Scalia.

The practice offers extended morning, evening and weekend hours. The doctors are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for emergency calls, and patients can also contact the physicians via secure e-mail. “We truly have a patient-centered philosophy, and always make ourselves available to patients,” says Dr. Christina Khalil, who is board certified in family medicine. “Keeping our patients healthy is just as important to us as treating their ailments.”

The doctors treat a wide spectrum of illnesses while emphasizing preventive care to keep children and adults healthy. “Kids are innocent, funny and sweet, and it’s rewarding to make a difference in their lives,” says Dr. Jordan-Scalia.

Dr. Scalia attended the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency at Somerset Medical Center. He serves on the boards for the Hunterdon Healthcare System, Hunterdon Medical Center and Hunterdon Healthcare Partners. Dr. Jordan-Scalia and Dr. Khalil attended the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed their residencies at Somerset Medical Center and RWJ-Rutgers, respectively.

The practice is affiliated with Hunterdon Medical Center, Morristown Medical Center and RWJ University Hospital. The modern, high-tech practice participates in a program with insurance companies to provide the highest quality of care at the lowest cost to the patient. “We love that practicing family medicine allows us to treat the entire family—and, in many cases, three to four generations of families,” Dr. Scalia says.
