Board-certified pediatrician Dr. Debra Harmady has been practicing for more than two decades. A member of the cleft lip/palate craniofacial team at Monmouth Medical Center, she was inspired to become a doctor based on her personal experiences of being born with a cleft palate, as well as investigating treatments for malignant melanoma in the molecular biology lab of Dr. Sidney Pestka. Dr. Harmady is a clinical professor at both Monmouth University and Georgetown University. She’s involved with the NJ chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics on programs to advocate for children with special needs and behavioral health issues.

A New Jersey native, Dr. Harmady earned her MD at Drexel University College of Medicine, where she was awarded for her services as clinic director of the Homeless Outreach Project. She volunteers at the Parker Clinic in Red Bank and frequently returns to Guatemala to work with the Hospital De La Familia. “We’re a bilingual, family-oriented practice focused on the health and well-being of children and their families, as well as giving back to the community,” she says.
