The Elisabeth Morrow School

Located on 14 acres in Englewood, New Jersey, just nine miles from New York City, The Elisabeth Morrow School offers a unique, comprehensive and rigorous educational experience for three year olds to eighth graders. We are one of the most diverse independent schools in the country, with 52% students of color, and our bucolic campus includes not just academic buildings, technology labs, gymnasiums, an athletic field and science labs but also a certified wildlife habitat with nature trails and working gardens. Within our nationally known music program, our school provides instrumental instruction as part of the regular school day starting in third grade, and offers many vocal, instrumental and theatrical performance opportunities for our students. Our experienced and dedicated faculty engage our students’ intellectual curiosity and help them develops lifelong passions through a curriculum focused on the intellectual, social and emotional development of children through all of the stages of childhood. Students develop a love for learning and enjoy a strong sense of community with their peers based upon our 4 C’s — courtesy, consideration, cooperation, and compassion — which form the foundation of our character education program. Service learning opportunities abound starting at the earliest ages. After a robust secondary school process designed to find the right fit for students as they enter the next phase of their educations, graduates of The Elisabeth Morrow School matriculate at some of the finest day and boarding schools throughout the tri-state area. Our school provides both early morning and after school childcare, as well as after school enrichment classes, and we offer summer camps as well as an audition-only music camp. We field 12 sports teams including flag football, basketball, tennis, volleyball and lacrosse. Our community includes families from over 50 towns in Bergen, Rockland, Passaic, Morris, Essex, Union, and Hudson Counties as well as New York City.
