UPDATE (2/27): DreamWorks Water Park is slated to open on March 19, along with American Dream’s first retail stores. It’s the first to open in the world. Guests will be able to preview its attractions, including Shrek’s Sinkhole Slammer, Kung Fu Panda’s Temple of Awesomeness and the Penguins of Madagascar Play Zone. Tickets are now on sale, and cost $99 for ages 10 and up, $89 for ages 3-9 and $74 for a Twilight Pass, valid two hours before park close.

November 2019: Nickelodeon Universe at American Dream has been fully operational for a few weeks now. But we can’t help but stare longingly at all those winding water slides from the highway. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a bit longer to hit the slides. American Dream just pushed back the opening date for DreamWorks Water Park, which was slated to open next week.

“Creating the ultimate entertainment experience takes time and patience,” said an American Dream spokesperson. “Unfortunately, that means we’ll have to wait a little longer for the opening of DreamWorks Water Park, as we are postponing the previously announced opening date of November 27th.”

When it finally does open, there’ll be tons to explore, as it will be the continent’s biggest indoor water park. The kids can take on 40 slides and 15 attractions, including the biggest wave pool in the world (1.5 acres!), a lazy river and the world’s tallest indoor body slide (142 feet high). There’ll also be 31 cabanas to chill in with dreamy views of the Manhattan skyline. Movie-themed areas will include Madagascar’s Rain Forst, Shrek’s Swamp and the Kung Fu Panda Zone.

A revised opening date hasn’t been announced yet, but Big SNOW is still on track to open on December 5. It’ll be the first indoor snow park in North America. Keep an eye on the American Dream website for updates.
