The Pigeon Comes to Jersey City!, an exhibit based on art and characters from Mo Willems’ bestselling book Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!, is now on display at the Liberty Science Center. Kids will reunite with Knuffle Bunny, best friends Elephant and Piggie and everyone’s favorite bird, The Pigeon!Â
Catapult foam hot dogs at The Pigeon or give Naked Mole Rat a makeover before his fashion show on the runway. Old-school animation and double-sided phone booths will transform this space into a page straight out of Willems’ book.Â
The exhibition also provides wearables buses for traveling through the room, laundromat machines with surprises inside and lightweight blocks that, when stacked, create goofy friends.
Children will have the opportunity to look at sketches by Willems and make their own illustrations inspired by his art style. Make sure to stop by before September 5 for a chance to experience the magic of Willems’ book.Â
