El Dia De Los Muertos is the Day of the Dead in Mexican culture, celebrating both All Saints Day on November 1 and All Souls Day on November 2. It’s a time to reflect on your deceased loved ones while sharing their stories in order to keep their memory alive. Here’s where in New Jersey you can eat some Mexican food, dance to a Mariachi band and paint sugar skulls.

Dia De Los Muertos: Day of the Dead Celebration
Washington Borough
Celebrate with a traditional Mariachi band, free sugar skull face painting, artisan and local vendors, and send a message to your deceased loved ones in the fire pit.

October 26 – November 1

New Brunswick
Visit altars displayed at the New Brunswick Free Library, Zimmerli Art Museum, Mexican American Student Association at the Center for Latino Arts and Culture, Mexican Consulate in New Brunswick and RWJ Community Health to collect passport stamps.
