Packed with eclectic eateries, unique shops, art galleries, wineries and distilleries, downtown Hammonton is made for wandering. When it’s time to eat, you’ll find everything from elevated Italian cuisine to cozy cafés. And make sure to try something blueberry, since Hammonton is the Blueberry Capital of the World – because of its 56 blueberry farms that produce 80 percent of the state’s blueberries!
Waffle Sandwiches: Funky Cow Café
Over-the-top sandwiches like Grandma Lola’s Cuban, or the Udderly Vegan gluten-free with spinach, lettuce and cabbage slaw, stack all the ingredients between two huge, fluffy waffles. Go with the NJ-only pork reuben, or indulge in the S’Mores Explosion waffle.
Bagel: Bellevue Bagel Café
To start your morning with Jersey flavors, top a blueberry bagel with store-made strawberry cream cheese.
Coffee: Casciano Coffee Bar & Sweetery
The namesake, The Casciano, is made with espresso and steamed milk sweetened with caramel, mocha or white mocha flavoring.

Cannoli: Mannino’s Cannoli Express
Visit the bakery or cannoli cart and get yourself a handheld treat fried to perfection, with a creamy filling made using Jersey-fresh blueberries (Hammonton is known as the Blueberry Capital of the World) or peaches.

Cinnamon Bun: The Bakeshoppe
South Jersey’s “most loved cinnamon bun” is the OG Jumbo Bun, topped with a generous scoop of fresh, gooey icing. You can’t go wrong either with their brownies, croissants, crumb cakes and other pastries.
Pizza: At Marcello’s Trattoria, the specialty is thin crust pies, like The Provonella, which has layers of provolone cheese and traditional Sicilian sauce. Let the kids build their own pan pizza with toppings of their choice. Bruni’s Pizzeria serves thick crust, margarita, Sicilian and white pizza along with its pepperoni bread.

Food Truck: Tacos Al Carbon
Try a pepino (cucumber) agua fresca with your tinga de pollo taco (shredded chicken in chipotle sauce) when you need a meal for the kids on the go.
Wine a Bit: The award-winning wine list at Annata Wine Bar complements Tuscan-infused tapas, especially during Winedown Happy Hour inside or out on the patio. Sharrott Winery offers tasting flights and full bottles during special event nights with live entertainment and a scratch kitchen.
Dessert Pies: Come for rustic, no-frills breakfast and lunch at Penza’s Pies at the Red Barn Cafe. This place is beloved for its five types of ricotta pie: regular, pumpkin, blueberry, peach and blueberry, and pineapple. Try a double crust apple, apple crumb, apple cranberry, apple blueberry, apple cherry, multi-fruit, coconut custard, peach, blueberry, pecan, pecan with blueberry and orange, or sugar-free apple. If you like tarts, try the pear. Or, for a savory pie, choose sweet potato, duxeberry, tomato or a meat pie.

Dinner With Your Dog: Snouts and Stouts Brewing
The motto at Snouts and Stouts is “Paws Up and Cheers for Handcrafted Beers.” Bring your leashed dog and your own food, then choose from more than a dozen dog-inspired beers, like a Hungry Dogs lager or Irish Setter ale.
Dinner: The fried chicken parmigiana gets a lot of attention at Joe Italiano’s Maplewood Hammonton. The newly opened Scarpelli is making a name for itself with Coach Rodio’s Clams Casino, tomahawk steak, and antipasto from Bagliani’s Food Market.
Make a Day Of It:
Nature lovers will get their fill in Hammonton. The Atsion Recreation Area playground, located in Wharton State Forest, is the New Jersey State Park Service’s first fully inclusive playground. While visiting the state park, explore the 19th-century Batsto Village and mansion, while also hiking the trails, going mountain biking or even horseback riding.
Families also flock to DiDonato Family Fun Center, which has a mix of bowling, arcade games, an ice cream shop, a full restaurant/bar, and seasonal, themed train rides.
