If your kids are fans of Big Bird, Elmo & their crew, then the way to get to Sesame Street is via American Dream in East Rutherford.
American Dream and Sesame Workshop opened the country’s first Sesame Street Learn & Play in November 2024, but just reopened the play place after a revamp.

Through an immersive experience, kids get to step into the rainforest at Elmo’s World, listen to Big Bird tell stories at his nest, shop at Hooper’s Store, and have some laughs with Bert and Ernie.

New is Cookie Monster’s Cookie Factory, a ball pit where kids help Cookie Monster “make cookies” by putting ingredient balls into his wacky mixing machines.
At Grover’s Junior Firefighter School, kids join Grover for hands-on firefighter training, climbing and crawling through obstacle courses, practicing hose-targeting skills, and hopping aboard for fire truck driving lesson.

At Oscar’s Rotten Fun Fest, kids play “grouchy games” like Trashy Treasure Hunt, Can Crusher, and the Seed Chute Shimmy. There’s an element of education added to the fun, because kids will learn about recycling.
Stop by the Laundromat and sort different-colored fabrics into separate laundry machines.

Parents will feel nostalgic, seeing the iconic 123 Stoop and Big Bird’s nest.

If the kids need to burn off more energy the Sesame Street Playground has areas for kids to climb, slide and ride.

Sesame Street Learn & Play is located at American Dream, 1 American Dream Way, East Rutherford.
