It’s basically any pregnant mom’s worst nightmare—not making it to the hospital on time and giving birth in the car—but that’s exactly what happened to this couple as they sped toward the birthing center. What’s more unbelievable? The husband filmed the whole thing.
Lesia Pettijohn and her husband, Jon, were traveling from Pasadena to the hospital in Houston when they got caught in traffic. Her water broke, and she and her husband were stranded on the highway.
This video lasts just four minutes, but it shows Jon driving as fast as he can to try to beat the baby to the birthing center in Houston, all while coaxing Lesia through her contractions.
At the end of the video, Lesia gives birth to a 10-pound (!!) son, Josiah, while still in the car on the highway. They’re lucky – both mother and baby are healthy, according to doctors.
