The team of dedicated physicians, surgeons and health professionals at University Spine Center make it their “mission to alleviate pain, improve function and enhance quality of life for patients suffering from spine disorders,” says Dr. Arash Emami, the practice founder.

Improving Patients’ Quality of Life

Dr. Emami, Dr. Ki Soo Hwang, Dr. Kumar Sinha and Dr. Nikhil Sahai are fellowship-trained in spine surgery and board-certified in orthopedic surgery. Dr. Andrew McGinniss’ areas of interest include hand and upper extremity disorders and entrapments including carpal and cubital tunnel syndromes.

“Our goal is to make kids comfortable by explaining things in a way they can understand, and for them to know that their providers are interested in their care,” he says.

Cutting-Edge Treatments

Among the first surgeons in the state to introduce minimally-invasive spinal surgery, Dr. Emami is dedicated to revolutionizing spinal treatments with groundbreaking techniques and research. His novel research and original publications on the safety of outpatient spinal surgeries have earned him widespread recognition.

Dr. Emami has also trained and mentored hundreds of orthopedic surgeons, and shared his knowledge and novel surgical techniques through hundreds of presentations at scientific meetings worldwide.

This group is serious about expanding knowledge in their specialties. The surgeons conduct clinical research and teach residents at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where Dr. Emami is chairman of the Orthopedics Department and Chief of Spine Surgery. He is also an associate professor of Orthopedics at Seton Hall University.
