Tips To Speed Up Your Morning Beauty Routine

The pros share genius shortcuts to get you out the door faster on busy mornings.

To bring out lashes…

Who doesn’t want thick, defined lashes with the swipe of a wand? The great thing about mascara is that it takes no time to apply. “Don’t skip your mascara,” says Alexa Prisco, a makeup artist in Hoboken better known as The Glam Fairy. “It’s going to open up the eyes and has the ability to brighten up the face.” Prisco’s go-to? Hello Lashes 5-in-1 Mascara by It Cosmetics ($24).

To wake up tired eyes…

Invest in good concealer, even if it’s the only thing you have time to apply. Priscilla DiStasio, a Ridgefield-based makeup artist for The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice, Dina Manzo and other celebs, recommends Too Faced Born This Way Naturally Radiant Concealer ($28). “It gives off such a clear and natural finish with just enough coverage to last me throughout the day,” says DiStasio.

To give lips a pop…

Try a cheek and lip stain. “It gives a nice natural flush to the cheeks and tapping it onto your lips will give you a pop of color,” says April Polkowski, a Lyndhurst-based esthetician and makeup artist for Life and Living with Joanna Gagis. “You can apply lip balm or lip gloss to play up the stain or tone it down. Tarte Cheek Stain ($30) is great because it comes in a stick, so no mess.”

To get a healthy glow…

Use a powder that doubles as foundation for luminous-looking skin in a hurry, says Leslie Ann Banfitch, a makeup artist in Bridgewater. She loves Lancôme Dual Finish Multi-Tasking Powder Foundation ($39.50). “[It] provides excellent coverage and has a smooth velvety finish.”

To moisturize and even out skin…

“Mix a few drops of your favorite foundation with your daily face lotion to get quick coverage and [hydration] in one easy step,” says Nicole Amaducci, owner of Nicole Makeup and Hair in Whippany. Her moisturizer of choice: Embryolisse LaitCrème Concentré ($16).
