Babybel

It’s May. We’re sick of packing lunches. Long gone are the days of cutting sandwiches and cucumbers into cute shapes with little faces. The sweet notepad we bought to write cute notes is lost at the bottom of the junk drawer. The bento boxes we bought are missing lids and slightly warped by the dishwasher. Lunch has morphed into crusted bread, some questionable grapes and full-sized drinks bought in a panic at the 7-Eleven on the way to school so they don’t dehydrate. And we’ve still got almost two months left before school is done for the year.

Like a wonderful beacon of hope comes this new product from Babybel. On top of the little wax covered cheeses, which we buy for the kids but eat at 10 pm because wine pairs really well with cheese, Babybel has now created these little rolls of cheese. Yes, rolls of cheese. These mini rolls are easy to open, and perfect to pack for lunch. They have no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives, and are only 45 calories. Which is good to know when your starving kid eats five in a sitting in the backseat of your car on the way to practice.

Right now, they are only available at Target. Which is fine, because we’re there at least once a week anyway spending $200 on throw pillows and must-have goodies from the dollar bin. Bring on the cheese (and wine).
