The endless Jersey debate of pork roll vs. Taylor ham is taking center stage at a race this weekend, when runners will head to the finish line and declare their favorite breakfast meat. The Pork Roll vs. Taylor Ham 5K/10K – and 2K Pup Strut! returns to Duke Island Park in Bridgewater on Sunday, complete with medals, sandwiches and treats for four-legged racers.
Don’t worry about racing, because there are no timing chips at this event. But when you do cross the finish line, you’ll get a medal, plus the sandwich of your choice. Your dog will get a treat at the end, too.
Packet pickup starts at 8:30 am on race day. The races start at 10 am.
The event is organized by MegaBite Runs and benefits Good News Home Inc., a faith‑based nonprofit organization offering short‑ and long‑term residential treatment for women recovering from substance abuse.
Registration is $48 for the 5K, $58 for the 10K and $25 for the Pup Strut. Register here.
Duke Island Park is located at 191 Old York Rd., Bridgewater.
