The weather’s warming up, and World Cup fever is building. With eight games—including the World Cup final—scheduled at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, fútbol mania is in full effect in New Jersey. In anticipation of the sold-out matches, there’s another major event for soccer fans to get hyped about right next door to MetLife Stadium. The Messi Experience is coming to neighboring American Dream.
Fútbol fans and anyone who has ever been transfixed by Leo Messi is going to want to add this one to their bucket list. “I am thrilled to see this project come to life and bring fans even closer to me—both on and off the field,” Messi said in the press announcement. “I’ve always sought to inspire people through my passion for football, and this experience allows fans to relive the most unforgettable moments of my journey.”
Set to open this spring at American Dream, The Messi Experience is an immersive, interactive tribute to the soccer icon and his legendary career. The attraction will feature nine unique installations where fans can test their soccer skills and step into pivotal moments from Messi’s life and athletic career.
Guests will move through a multi-room experience that traces Messi’s story from his childhood in Rosario, Argentina, to his iconic years with FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Miami, and the Argentina national team. Throughout the immersive experience, visitors can take on AI-powered soccer challenges and practice ball control and shooting drills. There will be holograms, cinematic sound, storytelling, a replica of Messi’s locker room, and a look inside his childhood bedroom. Visitors can also interact with AI-powered versions of Messi and snap an interactive selfie with the legend.
Of course, there’s also a merch store with exclusive signed memorabilia, and it’s the only retail location in the U.S. where fans can shop for those one-of-a-kind collectible items.

American Dream has more soccer-themed events in the works. “This is only the beginning, as we plan to bring more unique events and activations to the property as we build momentum toward the World Cup,” Petrick said.
