Starting in Summer 2020, you won’t need Floo powder or a Nimbus 2000 to get to the magical world of Harry Potter.
Potterheads will only need to travel as far as NYC to visit the first official Harry Potter flagship store, which will be located at 935 Broadway (next to the Flatiron building). The store will be more than 20,000 square feet and cover three floors, in addition to providing the magical shopping experience you’d expect from any store worthy of Diagon Alley.
Even if you’ve visited the Wizarding World at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL, you’ll still be stupefied by the largest collection of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beast products in the world. Think everything from personalized robes and house wands to Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans.
“This will be the largest dedicated Harry Potter store in the world and will become a must-visit fan destination where Harry Potter enthusiasts can engage with interactive experiences and numerous photo opportunities as they step into the magic,” says Sarah Roots, senior vice president of Worldwide Tours and Retail at Warner Brothers. “We are very excited to be opening in New York. It’s the ideal city in which to launch with so many dedicated Wizarding World fans, a cutting-edge retail environment and a community that embraces innovative experiences.”
And while you’re there, you might want to take your little wizards to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway. (As someone who has seen it twice, it’s worth it, trust me.) It’s also Broadway Week, so you can still nab that 2-for-1 ticket deal!
