Teens who love driving, playing arcade games or throwing axes will want to speed to Supercharged Entertainment New Jersey, the world’s largest indoor, multi-level karting track and entertainment venue, opening Monday December 19 in Edison.

The biggest draw is two uniquely designed tracks that combine into one 80,000-square-foot Supertrack. Once you sign your waiver, put on your gear (you can bring your own shoes, helmets or neck brace or borrow them there at no charge), get all of your safety instructions and buckle in. Then off you’ll go for a 7-minute high-speed adventure along the half-mile track. We’re talking power behind the 18-horsepower karts that can race up to 45 mph. But these are not bumper cars – those are located inside the arcade – so be careful as you drive along or one of the many flaggers situated around the course will slow down your car for you. What’s cool is that the 90 karts are all-electric vehicles that produce zero emissions. You must be 4-foot 10-inches or taller to ride.

You can’t miss the two-story Drop & Twist Tower, an attraction you typically see on the boardwalk or at an amusement park that spins, drops, lifts up and drops again – it’s not for the faint of heart or stomach. You must be at least 4 years old and at least 3 feet 6 inches tall to ride.

The downstairs arcade is open to anyone and is geared more toward younger kids with its ticket redemption. Upstairs there are more arcade games appropriate for adults, plus virtual reality.

Upstairs there are also 19 lanes for axe throwing. The board is projected onto a screen so you can choose from different competitive games to play. No matter your preference, you’ll work on targeting the perfect bullseye! Kids 10 and up can try their hand at the game, but kids under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

No one can play under the influence of alcohol, so once your time is up, head to the lounge, bar or the full-service Burgers & Brews restaurant for food and drinks. Sit down and relax and watch any of the multiple TVs or big screens.

Saying the place is huge is an understatement. The building is 131,000 square feet on a 16-acre complex. The arcade has 160 games among two floors. There are lockers to keep your stuff before you ride, plus bathrooms and the all-important ATM.

“We made it a little bigger, a little badder and a little better along the way,” says Stephen Sangermano, president of the company, who owns Supercharged with his wife and CEO, Sandra. “We love getting families together, off the phone and bringing them together in a fun environment.” Stephen says the anchor is the karting but they “backfilled the rest with all our fun” calling it “an indoor Disneyland.”

This is the perfect location to host a birthday party for kids 15+, a corporate event, team-building exercise, family outing, bachelor(ette) parties, student field trip, charitable fundraiser or even a bar/bat mitzvah.

Or, if you’re looking for a job, Supercharged Entertainment Edison is hiring a team of 550 employees! If you’re interested, email your resume to CareersNJ@SuperchargedE.com.

Supercharged opened its first U.S. location in Wrentham, Massachusetts, in June 2019. The location at 987 Route 1 in Edison, adjacent to the also-popular Topgolf Edison, is the second U.S. hot spot. It was designed by Aria Group architects, the same people who designed Topgolf and Dave & Buster’s, so you know it’s going to be awesome! The grand opening will be Monday, Dec. 19, so hours are TBA. Karting starts at $29 per race. You don’t need to book your ride in advance, but you do have the option to make a reservation. Axe throwing rates are not yet available. Bumper cars are $7 per ride. The Drop & Twist Tower is $9 per person. Virtual reality games have individual prices. Load a PlayCard to enjoy the arcade games; credits start at $5.
