At Step By Step Pediatrics, Dr. Sean Flynn ensures that every visit is as enjoyable as possible for his patients—and that every child feels like the most important person in the room. The goal of his practice is to provide a higher quality of healthcare for children from birth to young adulthood, and to create a true medical home where patients always feel comfortable coming to see the doctor.
“Every patient, every concern and every question matter to me,” says the father of two, who has been nominated as a New Jersey’s Favorite Kids’ Doc for the past eight years. “Communication is key in everything we do.”
Ensuring Patient Comfort
The practice recently relocated to an expansive office that will feature a nursing room for breastfeeding mothers, larger exam rooms and state-of-the-art equipment. His bright, colorful and airy office environment features TVs and movies as well as interactive games and toys to put kids at ease. The practice also offers a patient portal for parents.
“My approach is always to make sure that both patients and their parents feel completely comfortable from the moment they walk through the door—and that they are always greeted with a smile,” he says. “I’m a big kid at heart, and I make it a point to take the time to talk to all of my patients.”
Treating Every Child As His Own
A board-certified pediatrician and Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Flynn received his MD from East Carolina University and completed his pediatric residency at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School. He trained at University Hospital and the Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center. Dr. Flynn has also served as a medical missionary in Haiti.
