For the next month, visitors of the Oculus in New York City will get an amazing treat. The über modern transportation hub will offer visitors a chance to wander through the Sistine Chapel with only a short trip to the city instead of a trek to Europe. With the help of state-of-the-art technology, Michelangelo's ceiling paintings from the Sistine Chapel have been recreated and installed in the Oculus at the World Trade Center.
From now through July 23, visit Up Close: Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel and explore one of art’s greatest achievements reproduced at its original size. With the modern style of the exhibit and extraordinary quality of the recreation, visitors will feel like they’ve been transported to historic Vatican City. With an up-close view, the kids will be in awe.
Tickets are available for purchase, with a 10 ticket limit per customer. Tickets start at $20 for adults and $15 for seniors 65 and up, students and teens between 12 and 18. Children under 12 get in free. For more info and tickets, visit the website.
If you miss your chance to see it this summer in the city, the exhibit will make its way to Garden State Plaza in Paramus from Sept. 1 through Oct. 15.
