Tucked away on Jamaica’s northwestern coast, Princess Grand Jamaica is an all-inclusive resort set on a quiet stretch of shoreline in Green Island. Located just over an hour from Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, the resort is surrounded by calm turquoise water and mountain views. With 590 suites, a lineup of restaurants and bars, a water park, a kids club, a gaming area and spa, the resort has so much to do that you really don’t need to leave.

If you’re a fan of all-inclusives—nearly half of respondents in a recent New Jersey Family travel survey said they would return to one or actively seek them out—Princess Grand is an ideal place to vacation, with food options and beach and kids’ activities all in one place. Part of the same resort as the neighboring adults-only Princess Senses The Mangrove, the property is relatively new, having opened in 2024. After a temporary closure following Hurricane Melissa, Princess Grand reopened on March 1.

Jamaica is known for reggae (Bob Marley is on repeat here, obvs), jerk chicken, friendly people, and Blue Mountain coffee, and the Princess Grand offers those quintessential island vibes all in one place. I spent a relaxing few days at the resort with my teen daughter, and our trip was all about R&R, sunshine (with her closely monitoring the UV index), swimming and beach walks.

What to Do with the Kids
The best spot for young kids at the resort is its on-site water park, which has 4 slides, 2 swimming pools, a splash pool, and a shaded lounging area. This is an amazing spot to spend the day with your littles, and there are two adjacent food trucks, where you can try authentic Jamaican jerk chicken, or a burger or cheese quesadilla for picky kids.

There’s tons to do and see at the kids club (for ages 3 to 12), with roughly 5,000 impressive square feet of games and activities in 7 indoor and outdoor areas.

There are lots of daily activities to keep the kids busy, from arts and crafts and dancing to cooking classes and treasure hunts, all right by the pool area.

The kids can play tennis, soccer, basketball and volleyball, too. There’s also a VR gaming lounge (VR games are an extra cost) and a movie theater. The resort’s beachfront area offers free kayaking, snorkeling and windsurfing for your crew.

Where to Eat & Drink
The resort has nine on-site all inclusive restaurants that include Jamrock for traditional Jamaican dishes, Il Palazzo for pizza and pasta, and Fusion 360 for sushi, stir-fry and mini poke bowls at the buffet. Most restaurants have buffet offerings and the ability to order. Portions are smaller, so you’re likely to try more of a variety and can order more as you go.

At Fusion 360, my daughter and I enjoyed the mini poke bowls and edamame from the buffet, along with shrimp and chicken skewers from the menu. We also loved the tacos, ceviche, guac and drinks at El Delirio, the resort’s Mexican restaurant. All of the resort’s restaurants are conveniently lined up in one spot, and in most cases, you’ll need to make reservations the day before you plan to have dinner. Having a variety of eateries in one area makes it easy for you and the kids to try different cuisines throughout your stay.
There are also eight bars, including one on the beach. There are plenty of sit-down lunch spots overlooking the ocean or pools, too.

For breakfast, my daughter and I were partial to the crepe café, which became our daily spot for cold brew, matcha, chocolate crepes and ice cream.

Room service was another highlight since we loved eating in the private swim-up area of our suite. One night, we ordered quesadillas and salad and watched the sunset, a spectacular mix of orange and pink hues over the Caribbean.

Where to Stay
Our swim-out suite was the highlight of our trip, a light-filled and private spot to relax, read and take in the sunshine. Sliding glass doors opened onto a terrace with loungers that dipped directly into the water. Inside, the layout of the room is open, with a sitting area, a large vanity, and a soaking tub separated by curtains.

Families with young kids can book Family Club Junior Suites with a king bed and bunk beds. Our swim-up suite included butler service, which means a staff member is assigned to you. Reachable via WhatsApp text messaging, your butler will check in with you daily (morning and night) to offer help, such as dinner reservations, activities at the resort, suggestions for off-site excursions and more.

Don’t Miss
Schedule a treatment at Spa Princess. My daughter and I both got facials and it was the most relaxing part of our stay. Guests here can also head to the spa at neighboring Princess Senses The Mangrove, the adults only sister resort. That spa has a hydrotherapy circuit, sauna, and cold plunge pool.

There are also other activities worth trying too, like a dance or spin class at the gym. In the evenings, you can catch live music and cultural performances on select nights at the amphitheater.
Prices range depending on the room you book and time of year you stay. Princess Grand Jamaica is currently offering discounts on stays, free round-trip airport transfers, and 10 percent off spa services when you book directly through the resort’s free member program.
