Sticky’s Finger Joint

If your picky eater refuses to eat anything but chicken fingers and fries, you’re both in luck. Sticky’s Finger Joint, a fast-casual chicken finger chain in NYC, will open its second NJ restaurant at The Village at Bridgewater Commons in Bridgewater this Friday. The chain opened its first Garden State spot at the Outlets at Bergen Town Center in Paramus this past May.

Sticky’s, which boasts the tagline “The Best Damn Chicken Finger You Have Ever Tasted,” currently has an impressive 49.9K followers on Instagram, and it’s no mystery why. Creatively dressed chicken fingers, bacon and cheese-topped fries and 18 internationally-inspired dipping sauces make foodies double-click on the regular, not to mention massive fried chicken sandwiches, grilled wraps, crispy poppers and salads. If you’re trying to be mindful about your fried food intake, not to worry: You can get your chicken fingers grilled, or opt for veggie fingers instead.

While guests can pick and choose their own customized combination of poppers, fingers, fries and sauces, Sticky’s Signature Creations take this spot’s grub to the next level. If you like it hot, go for the Buffalo Balsamic Blue, made with buffalo balsamic maple sauce, blue cheese crumbles and shredded carrots. One of the most raved about on social media is the Vampire Killer, loaded with Vampire Aioli (aka creamy roasted garlic dip), grated parm, garlic chips and pink peppercorn flakes. Those with a sweet tooth and an adventurous palate should go for the Salted Caramel Pretzel, chicken doused in caramel, pretzel salt and fried pretzel bits.

Handheld highlights (all sammies come with two fingers on a potato bun) include the classic with pickles, purple slaw and Sticky’s sauce, a creamy, white BBQ sauce the chain’s famous for, the Honey BBQ Club, made with tangy Sassy BBQ sauce, honey, bacon, cheddar and pickles, and the Bacon Mac, piled high with bacon, caramelized onions, pickles and the legendary mac sauce, aka cheddar cheese sauce with diced jalapeno.

French fry options run the gamut from cajun to truffle parmesan, but the real star of the menu is sauce section. Standouts include wasabi aioli, Thai sweet chili, Nashville Numb (a southern-Szechaun hybrid), Vindaloo BBQ (vinegar barbecue with hot Indian curry), Peruvian-inspired Cray Sauce (cilantro jalapeno) and Hot Honey (straight up honey with chili flakes). If the kids are craving dessert, go for a mini or regular sundae, which comes with vanilla soft serve, chocolate-covered pretzels, caramel and whipped cream. If they love salty/sweet snacks, go for the Fry-Dae, an ice cream sundae loaded with house fries, or an order of s’mores fries, fries covered in chocolate and marshmallow sauces and mini marshmallows.

This Instagram-famous eatery, which opened in 2012 (one of the founders is an Edison, NJ native!), had never ventured over the Hudson before. The Bergen County store was only the first of three in NJ: Another restaurant in Union Twp. is slated to open in the coming months.

In the meantime, you can head to the Paramus and Bridgewater locales to dig in. Best part? Special opening promotions are going on at the Bridgewater locale this weekend. On Friday, September 20 from 1-9 pm, the first 1,000 guests can get $1 baskets of chicken fingers and fries. The following day on September 21 from 11 am-2 pm, the shop will be doling out free samples and hosting family activities, like face painting, to the public.
