SeaQuest

Construction at Woodbridge Center Mall is underway for an epic new aquarium. SeaQuest Woodbridge, slated to open this fall, will boast critters and experiences your kids will have a blast exploring.

Guests will get to see rainforest, ocean and desert displays while meeting residents of each climate in each, from stingrays to caimans to sharks. Snap a selfie with a snake, feed birds and reptilian friends and take a hand-deep dip in a stingray touch tank. Bird lovers will be overjoyed to hear about the inner aviaries, where birds fly freely and may even land on guests. Visit tropical swimmers in the sunken ship on Pirate Island, wow them with a bearded dragon in The Outback (aka Australia) or face off with glowing creatures in Fantasy Caves of New Zealand. Other attractions to come include a snorkel experience with stingrays and an animal whisper tour.

Specific exhibits include Mayan Jungle, where you can meet vibrantly colored lorikeets and parakeets before visiting the fresh and saltwater aquariums; Adventurer’s Boardwalk, with games and water tables inspired by walks along the coasts; Amazon Rainforest, where they’ll interact with tropical creatures like iguanas that live below the canopy; The Great Wall of China, chock-full of traditional architecture, koi fish, mandarin ducks and a very special type of chicken; Egyptian Desert, ruled by large lizards, hieroglyphics, snakes and a roaming sulcata tortoise; Caribbean Cove, where the kids can keep their eyes peeled for both exotic fish and rays, plus a wandering mermaid; Icelandic Fishing Village, where the kids will visit with blue crabs, trout and more among lava tubes and the Northern Lights, and Shark Lagoon, where the bravest of your bunch will get a chance to feed these friendly swimmers.

Presale passes are out now, and you can save 50 percent on a yearly passport if you buy before April 30. Passports get you unlimited visits, early entry, guest discounts and more. Woodbridge Center Mall is located at 250 Woodbridge Center Dr. in Woodbridge.
