What’s more exciting than a restaurant in Metuchen that holds the Guinness Book of World Records honor for the most bottles of tequila/mezcal in the world?
Adding a second New Jersey location!
The famed Meximodo Cocina Mexicana & Tequila Bar is expanding to a new location in Jersey City later this spring. It will follow the concept from the original Metuchen hotspot, also displaying a huge collection of tequilas, mezcals and agave spirits. The Metuchen bar beat out 1.1 million bars around the world because of its 1,033 agave spirits and counting – and the reps from Le Malt Hospitality Group hope their new location gets the coveted Guinness world record award soon, too.
Plus, there are 200 exclusive liquor lockers on the premises.
The restaurant will open with dinner service only, and then expand to lunch and brunch. The menu will include guacamole, pollo con mole, Nayarit-style red snapper, street-style corn, Abuelita chocolate pancakes and a special kids’ menu.
Eat at the bar or inside the dining room; or rent out The Rose Room on the mezzanine for a private event, which will look like a Mexican garden. There will also be an outdoor terrace with pretty views of the NYC skyline. If this is anything like the Metuchen location, it will have gorgeous murals of sugar skulls and an epic bar area.
Meximodo Cocina Mexicana & Tequila Bar will be open inside the Veris Residential Haus 25 in downtown Jersey City, 25 Christopher Columbus Drive. The opening date will be announced later this spring. The original Meximodo is located at 5 Pearl St. in Metuchen.
