It’s a Christmas Miracle! FAO Schwarz is Back in NYC

The pop-up will open inside Bergdorf Goodman (but only for the holiday season).

If you’ve seen the movie Big, you definitely remember the iconically huge piano dance mat, which also means you remember FAO Schwarz.

This beloved toy giant closed back in 2015, but it’s making a festive return just in time for the holidays. The FAO experience is opening up in Bergdorf Goodman and staying through December 31.

Check out toys like a historically-huge 92-inch plush bear, sketch projector, indoor snowballs and of course, the piano dance mat. You can also shop holiday items like decorative nutcrackers (yup, minis of the life-size ones you remember from the old store!), ornaments and a 7-piece Santa evidence kit full of clues you can set up around the house to set the scene for Old St. Nick’s visit and escape.

If that’s not enough holiday shopping for you, visit the 35,000-square foot Toys R Us that’s also making a temporary return to Times Square in the Knickerbocker Building. It’s a 3-level spot with a hot toys section, movie headquarters, LEGO and NERF shops, interactive life-size toys and a play space that lets kids test out-of-the-box toys.

FAO Schwarz’s pop-up shop-in-shop store is located at 754 5th Ave. at 58th St. inside Bergdorf Goodman. Toys R Us is at 1466 Broadway on the corner of 42nd.
