What better reason to bust out red velvet pancakes? Make them even cuter by putting a heart-shaped cookie cutter in the middle of the pan and pouring batter inside for a perfectly shaped bite of love.

Put a Surprise in her Lunchbox

Toss in a few Hershey kisses or cut pieces of cantaloupe into little hearts. Don’t forget to include a note from Mom or Dad.

Eat Out

Treat the kids to a special V-Day meal. Let them pick the place (fair warning: you may be eating chicken fingers), and plan to get a little gussied up for the occasion. Book a sitter so you and your partner can head out for drinks or dessert once the kids are in bed.

Bring on the Treats

You look forward to your big box of chocolates and flowers, and they’ll love them, too. Make sure to pick up mini-versions to surprise the kiddos.

Make a Valentine Mailbox

Grab a shoe box, craft foam or whatever you can find around the house to make a mailbox with them. Decorate it together and make cards for every family member to open on February 14.
